Balancing a high-growth company and a marriage or serious relationship can be a challenging task, especially for startup CEOs. With the success rate of marriages hovering around 50%, it's not surprising that the success rate for entrepreneurs balancing both might be even lower. Building and scaling a high-growth technology company is a difficult and demanding task that requires a great deal of focus and energy. But it is possible for a CEO to excel in both their professional and personal life.

The key to success lies in two crucial traits: perspective and intention. The CEO must recognize that while their company is incredibly important, it will only be a small part of their life in the grand scheme of things. Keeping this perspective helps the CEO to run their company in a way that they can look back on with no regrets, while also preserving other important aspects of their life.

Intention is also crucial. The CEO must declare what is truly important to them and make space for it in their life. Work will consume all available time if boundaries are not set, but this should not mean that the relationship takes a back seat. If the relationship is a priority, the CEO must invest time and energy into it just as they do with their company.

It's important to note that there is no one right way to balance a high-growth company and a relationship. Some CEOs may choose to focus solely on their company, and that's okay. However, if the relationship is a priority, the CEO must be intentional about making time for it. As the company grows, the CEO can add people and structures to create the space they need to invest in everything that is most important to them.

Balancing a high-growth company and a relationship is not easy, but it is achievable. It requires clear intention and a vision for one's life. The CEO must turn their vision into reality just as they are doing with their company. It's important to remember that life is not something that just happens to us; we have the power to design it.

In conclusion, balancing a high-growth company and a relationship is possible for startup CEOs. The key to success lies in having perspective and intention. The CEO must recognize what is truly important to them and make space for it in their life. It's not easy, but it is achievable through clear intention and a vision for one's life.
