Vodafone and Three customers can expect significant changes following the £15 billion merger of the two telecom giants last summer. Now operating as VodafoneThree, the newly formed company has announced a sweeping transformation of its high street stores across the UK.

Revitalizing the High Street Presence

With around 29 million customers, VodafoneThree is set to overhaul its retail locations, reaffirming its commitment to maintaining a presence in every town where Vodafone or Three currently operates. However, the company has hinted that some neighboring stores may consolidate as part of this transformation. Details on which locations might close remain unclear, and any potential closures are expected to occur over the span of several years.

Importantly, VodafoneThree has confirmed that no redundancies are planned as part of this retail revamp. Instead, customers can look forward to new dual-branded stores that promise enhanced services and support. For example, the Fix & Go by Vodafone service will offer additional repair options for customers seeking in-store assistance.

Investment in Flagship Locations and 5G

The transformation will include flagship stores in major cities such as London, Manchester, Edinburgh, Birmingham, and Cardiff, showcasing the company’s investment in customer experience. Beyond retail, VodafoneThree has pledged £11 billion to build the UK’s largest 5G network by 2034, demonstrating its broader ambitions in connectivity.

Commitment to the Community

Jon Shaw, VodafoneThree Consumer Operations Director, emphasized the importance of these changes to local communities and high streets. "We know how important stores like ours are to the health of the high street and the communities which rely on them", he said. "From shopping devices, seeking support from our experts or getting their phone repaired, we are proud to serve our customers where they are and reaffirm our commitment to the UK high street. The stores will help bring our brands to more people, offering customers more choice and greater value, as we build the UK’s best network."

By focusing on enhanced customer support and investing in both retail spaces and network infrastructure, VodafoneThree aims to position itself as a leader in the UK's mobile industry while strengthening its ties to local communities.
